These are a few of my favorite bands. (At least this week. I'm sure my taste in music will change next week, or as determined by corporate America.)

Ben Folds Five - This band consists of three members.(Not five. Think about it, does Ben Folds Three sound right to you?) The cool thing about this band is there is no rhythmic guitar. Their music includes the piano, bass guitar, and drums. You may know them from their short-lived fame from their one hit "Brick"; but their sharp, witty tunes such as "Song For the Dumped" and "One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces" are much better than that corporate-friendly song.

Everclear - No, not the alcohol, the band. Band members Art Alexakis, Craig Montoya, and Greg Eklund provide a Seattle/California rock aura that's bound to get you singing. Current hits include "I Will Buy You a New Life" and "Father of Mine", but both of their albums are full of great songs.

Dave Matthews Band - Hopefully, you know who these people are. They've produced many albums, including "Under the Table and Dreaming" and "Before These Crowded Streets"; but their best by far is "Crash". I think they sang the theme song to Boston Common, but I'm not sure. Did you know that the girl from Two Guys, A Girl, and a Pizza Place was on Boston Common?

Sarah McLachlan - Sarah McLachlan, the proverbial queen of Lilith Fair, smashed onto the music scene with her 1994 album, "Fumbling Towards Ecstasy"; but her big break didn't occur until her 1997 album "Surfacing" hit the record stores. With smash hits including "Sweet Surrender", "Building A Mystery", and the City of Angels soundtrack hit "Angel", McLachlan quickly establishes a repertoire of mysterious and soothing songs.
